Stree Mukti Sanghatana: (Women's Liberation Organisation) has directed its efforts towards the upliftment of women by creating social awareness about women's issues and issues related to equality, peace and development. It is an apolitical, autonomous, voluntary organisation based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, INDIA. The organization has also been accredited by ECOSOC (U.N.).The cultural troupe of Stree Mukti Sanghatana has a consistent track record of 30 years. It has reached every nook and corner of India with the help of powerful plays and numerous songs on women's issues including songs on various issues raised by the women's movement, songs of unity, and songs of empowerment. Issues like literacy, violence, unorganized workers, political rights, dowry, rape etc. were taken up.
Academy of Theatre Arts: The Academy of Theatre Arts was established in 2003. The University of Mumbai initiated this Academy keeping in mind the dearth of theatre training institutes in Mumbai, despite the city being the main centre of theatre activity in the country. The Academy offers a two year full time comprehensive Masters Degree course in Theatre Arts.
Women Playwrights International (WPI): Women Playwrights International (WPI) is dedicated to planning and convening international conferences for women playwrights, which have brought together women playwrights and allied theatre artists, cultural workers and scholars together since 1986. WPI is dedicated to maintaining ongoing international Women Playwrights Conferences every three years at different locations in the world, and to facilitating communications, meetings, interchanges, and activities among the international community of women in theatre.
